"Avoid the Twelve" doesn't know how to use "its" and "it's" either. (ha ha, hoping I can get away with criticizing a press release for grammar. I definitely know better than to do it with posts, but it still irritates me.)

ok... what is Avoid the 12? What's the 12?

Nice tone. Instead of "please be safe because there are lots of kids out" it is: If you really want to be scared.... Gee Thanks Deputy Tough Guy Farmer. So lame, no wonder the law enforcement community is under scrutiny these days. Serve and protect, not harass and threaten.

Why the constant criticism? The press release is meant to be tongue in cheek in reference to Halloween. However they get drunk drivers off the road, short of dropping them from a helicopter into the ocean, I am for it.

What a ridiculous press release. It's great and, unfortunately, necessary that they'll be out in force trying to catch drunk drivers this weekend. But come on, guys. The puns and double entendres make you look like junior high kids or nerdy dads, not cops to be respected (and apparently feared).

The avoid the 12 really made themselves look dumb on this one...duh the whole read made me stupid.

The 12 is the 12 law enforcement agencies in the County. Does anyone else think that is about 11 too many? Talk about overlap and redundancy and interagency sniping!

258: No, not really. It's a pretty large county.
235: Don't mind 238, and 258 is correct. But this does get asked every single time they put out a press release (just so you know why the snark came out). I think it's an interesting tactic - people always ask when they hear it for the 1st time, so it gets people talking/asking (or googling, or whatever) about it, which I'm sure is the point. Saying avoid the police while you're drunk driving doesn't have the seem vibe. ;)
And I agree that the tone of this one was weird, saying if you're in costume we'll still see you. Well, yeah. Costumes don't make people invisible. I think other than 2 year olds and ostriches, we're all pretty well aware of that.

I think the AVOID the 12 deserves a SNARKY rating. Oh wait, looks like SNARKY is gone... how about NEGATIVE?

I don't like "AVOID" either. It sounds like we all should be planning elaborate detours rather than sober transportation.

QUAD-LIX : How about "outrun the 12"? Vroom vroom!

How about the "AVOID the 12" or the POA, or the whomever, start addressing us with some respect? Or are we going to be tased, thrown on the ground and beaten? Who works for who?

"A message just for me" not to drink & drive? Why would they single ME out? I think it should be a message for EVERYONE. What did i do that made them aim their message at just me?

Sounds like an angry dad trying to scare his children (us, in this case). What a load of malarchy!

We all know it's illegal and dangerous to drink and drive, thank you.
