Who on earth let them schedule it for 8-9 am to 4-6 pm each day...for 7 days! Thats Rush Hour! I know you guys love love love AWARENESS to things, but the weekly bike rides are getting really old :(

I don't understand why they are closing the 101 for this, the shoulder is a designated bike lane north of SB and just south of rincon.

damned if you do follow the rules, damned if you don't... sheesh. I was curious: "The American Legion Riders will provide a motorcycle escort during the event and several Posts will sponsor rest stops and dinners. The ride will be limited to 200 participants with a minimum $3,200 donation."

My Google Fu has failed. I can find nothing on Cal Trans web site for this ride. They mucked up the URL in the press release too. It probably won't be Bike-a-geddon.

762 I think you misunderstood. The start time is sometime between 8-9 AM and ride ends between 4 and 6PM. They cannot do it in the dark so these are reasonable hours.

max 200 riders (for whole stretch--daily riders can join) raising $3200 each for veteran rehab--sounds like a super idea to me!! http://www.ride2recovery.com/main.html#1

Elderwimmer: How did i misunderstand? Is there not a rush hour in the morning and at night? Wont these riders be on the same roads at those same heavily congested times? If you care so much about this cause....just give the money! Its pretty selfish to not help others just because they dont offer you a bike ride.
