other day trip fall treats: See Canyon for heirloom apple farms, Cal Poly for pumpkins, Reis Family Pumpkin Farm in LOV for Pumkin-Pult, Cambria Scarecrow Festival--over 200 scarecrows around town.

The rock cliff in the background of the second picture is the uplift side of a fault line. It is what lets the heated sulpher water through for the hot springs in the area. Just a note for info lovers!

How about our own Lane Family Farms on Walnut just off Hollister in Goleta. One of the last family owned urban farms, they host students and families all during the fall for their Harvest activities including hay rides, a corn maize, and pumpkins that cover their main growing grounds. Let's support our local farm families by visiting and thanking them for working with their community so closely. Hard work.

"Cooked" pumpkin is very good for making your bowels regular (and your dogs too). And.... Bring on the pumkin pie :) Nice pics, thanks for sharing
