Ron / 541....It's a YOACH, not a YOCH. A yoach is a low-life moocher.

What's the logic behind bail amounts? This guy actually beats someone to a pulp and the bail is $50k and just down the page a guys bail is $100k for threatening to beat someone. Seems to me they are at least as dangerous as each other!

Regardless of what facts come out and who is or is not telling the truth, violence sucks. It's no way to solve anything. An eye for an eye leaves two people blind. On a lighter note, is it possible the perp who was arrested may have said, "My Daddy gave this to me," and meant something entirely different?

That guy is one of the group of "yochers" who hangs out down at the Habit and around lower State harrassing people and begging for money. He is very aggressive. I highly doubt the story he told to save his bacon. The guy's father is probably alive and well and about 45 years old and he probably kicked his son out of the house for being a low-life stoner and all around jerk. The necklace had to be important to the cop, if Teft had any chance of explaining his over the top reaction - so he made it a gift from his deceased father. Furthermore, I wouldn't doubt that the victim was a friend/associate of Teft's. I hope they lock him up and his band of hoodlum friends sees the law's response and they all decide to leave town. I'm pretty sick of the yochers.

I don't get it. Someone assaults you and you can't defend yourself? If someone comes over to me, and starts trying to rob me, and lays hands on me (which is assault) I would also commence to kick ass. I'm very surprised the guy as arrested, and the perpetrator is being referred to as the victim.

These two men are prime examples of what our Homeless Inc. has encouraged. One a stoner, the other too drunk to stand, both downtown, one urinating in public. Welcome tourists and tax-paying residents.

This is not an objective version of the event. From the narrative, it's clear that it is based on the perp's story only. I'd imagine that the victim would tell a much different version.

Garrison Keillor suggests ketsup for mellowing. If you try that, get the "high fructose corn syrup"-free kind.

The victim broke the necklace his deceased father gave him...that sucks, for all parties. Emotions get the best of people too often, hopefully this kid will get the help he needs to learn how to deal with them...
