Sorry but I have to ask... how did our Diablo power plant perform during the earthquake? Has anyone seen the results of the recent earthquake study? Do people know that the Mark 1 design is used all over the US-but is very old- and has a whole design problem? (1/3 of entire fleet in our country is Mark 1- 34 plants in all). So why aren't people discussing this? These structures are not up to date, cannot be retro-fitted and nuclear power plants must be able to be retro-fitted so when they get hot, they can be replaced (ha, ha...as if there is someplace to deposit the hot parts, anyway). Can't we find other ways to use hundreds of thousands of gallons of fresh water every day?

Sorry 988, I lived it in 1968. Tigers vs Cardinals. Denny McLain, Mickey Lolich pitched for the Tigers. In game one of the Series, Bob Gibson of the Cardinals threw a shutout, and by the fourth game St. Louis was ahead 3-1. But then the Tigers came back, winning the series 4-3. . . That was a World Series.

I'm happy to hear your memories of '88. I have my own memories of '68. Tigers vs The Cardinals. Detroit was down 3-1 and came back to win it in game 7. So I'm pulling for them, even though I haven't been to either city since 1969.

That's nothing, wouldn't it be weird if the SF Giants won the next two games and during the World Series they had another big one in SF reminiscent of 88 at Candlestick Park?

didn't feel a thing, near Santa Maria. Head hit the pillow at 11:40 and I was out like a light. Cat seems a bit wide eyed this morning, too--sleeping in unusual spots out in the open.
