Code 4 on Canon Perdido all is well now. It sounded pretty dramatic there a second. This hostile criminal behavior must stop if we are to survive together in this little fart of the world. I don't know why the courts let people get away with so much here in Santa Barbara?

Remind me why we are supposed to be compassionate about this behavior? Anyone who is a clear threat to their own or other's safety needs to be taken out of harms way. Including our own.

It's because we can't spend money to deal with these folks. We have bulb-outs to build.

Waving a hedge trimmer around at people is more of a sign of mental issues than criminal behavior, IMO. Depending of course on the specific circumstances. What fixes that? Medical care that may go on for awhile. We could lock them up in jail, but that will create more problems than it solves in the medium to long term. Expenses go up as well to deal with the problem. So which is more efficient and therefore less expensive? Excluding the $400,000/yr jail doctors, the medical is a better deal. Cheaper and if it solves the issue, no more expense at all. And as a bonus it's more humane.

There is always a Wood Chipper..I don't think it would cost much whatever a tree company would charge I guess.

I know the Main Post Office over there needs some major trimming. Let her hack away over there.

This has to be the same woman we saw in that area - with hedge clippers in hand - schreeching the lyrics to The Beatles' " they say it's your birthday! Happy birthday to ya..." over and over at the top of her lungs. She punctuated the song with stamping her feet where the drums were supposed to be ( i think!).. My husband was transfixed; my 7 year old son was terrified.

A hedge trimmer will cut you apart! fingers off. Very dangerous and scary. SB is too busy busting people on camera fro SB on patrol, and not dealing with all the real crap that happens around here

Suzy Scissorhands? Nothing is more useless than a gardening tool in the hands of a transient. Heaven forbid they might actually do some actual work with the tool.
