Edhat formerly had a weekly column on what veg and fruits were available and some serving suggestions and once in a while recipes. Miss that!!

Santa Barbara needs a Farmers' Market online newsletter like the one for Carrboro Farmers' Market in Carrboro, NC. They have a mass of photos every week of nature's bounty. Under the heading: WHAT'S AT MARKET--click the subheading: "Pictures of out [sic] What's at Market" to see how Carrboro, NC helps its local farmers. It's a photographic extravaganza of vegetables, fruits, plants, honey, bread, and local crafts.

Almost weekly for months I have thought, I must take some close-up pics of these wonderful colors. You DID! Thanks. Aren't those peppers amazing???

666 and 767...look for a photo shoot of the farmers in an upcoming Edhat article. I agree...they're cool folks.

333666 (great number!): I was thinking the same thing. With all respect to David Powdrell, farmers markets are about the farmers or those who are selling the produce and those who are there buying it.

I do not think you need anyone's permission to take pictures of people in public places, as in or at a farmers market, for instance. Anyone know?

Great colours and shapes but .... where're the people? You have to admit that a big attraction to the FM is not just the produce but the folks who grow it, sell it and buy it. Granted, you don't have to ask the produce permission to take and post their pics.

Gross! There could be bugs in there! Don't you know they make pesticides and bug resistant GMOs to protect us from such atrocities?

Ok, I admit that stuff looks delicious and I love strolling the farmers markets. Gratitude for the local farmers!

Handsome pics. Almost looks good as what I grow in my own backyard. I like knowing my food is 100% organic. (And who can afford those berries? Bill Gates?)

Although, as one of my pals asked, when I told him I grow everything organically:

"Do you use Santa Barbara water?"

I thought that was pretty funny.

(Do love the Farmer's Mart, though.)
