256: I remember that stretch from 2010! It cannot be emphasized enough that braking and cornering on a road bike in the wet is tricky. 123: I'll do my best, and hopefully the rest of us will as well. Each of us can only vouch for him/herself. 297: The Cool Breeze is an easier ride, but you do have to be comfortable enough with riding on the 101 for a few miles, or else it gets pretty scary. See you on the road, OP and 138.

297: They just had the cool breeze century about 1-2 months ago. Probably about as flat as it gets around here. Check it out next year.

Thanks for the head's up and have fun. If they ever come up with a flatter century (mostly coastal route?), I'm all over that.

Sounds too dangerous, I'm going to the beer festival instead.

Have fun! I'm taking this year off, but for some reason there is always rain/heavy drizzle on these rides. Be careful between Ladera and SYR...lots of people go down when the roads are wet.

Just like all driver are not the same, all cyclist are not the same. There are some that obey the laws, and some that don't. There are some good drivers/riders, and some bad drivers/riders. Please remember you are operating heavy machinery around people not protected by air bags.

Good luck and have a safe ride! I'll also be riding my bike this weekend, but not in good enough shape for the century.

I'm signed up as well and greatly looking forward to it. 123: We would not be able to have such an event if it were not stressed that laws were meant to be followed. Of course you will always have some that don't feel they need to. Please keep in mind we are not all the same.

Weather report looks as though you might be riding in rain (good for us, not so good for you!) We ALL need to stay aware, no matter whether we're on a bike, walking, or in our car. Stay safe out there, everyone!

Suggestion: Make it a "Midnight Ride." Cooler. Less traffic.

Do the participants obey traffic signs/laws, Stop at Stop signs?

All week there's been sidewalk construction with a flag man to control traffic along North San Marcos from Via Los Santos to Cathedral Oaks. Watch out!

Yikes, you guys are crazy. That is one heck of a route and may be hot and treacherous out there! Be safe, courteous and stay hydrated!

Good luck and safe riding! And I'll add I hope that all the riders will obey traffic laws, stop at stop signs, etc. The scofflaw actions of too many bicyclists give rise to a road rage that probably aggravates the dangers cyclists face.
