Thanks for the support, folks. I accept that some people don't like news photographers. What I can't let stand is false accusations such as the notion that I am in any way blocking emergency crews from doing their job. I was a firefighter/rescue tech for over five years in the Atlanta area. I know how to stay out of the way, and even occasionally be helpful. More importantly though, it looks like the fire is pretty well controlled and hopefully the winds will mind their manners.

I try to give unbiased consideration to both compliments and criticism. In this case a couple negative individuals chose to make up supporting facts so their preconceived notions can continue to hold a place in their thought process. Sad. I follow the law, take precaution not to impede public safety crews and honestly, don't understand the basis for claiming I am "subverting attention to" myself. I appreciate edhat and like to contribute newsworthy content when I am able. I'm not looking for a gold star. That said, I hope the fire is contained and extinguished without injury or property damage.

You're obviously a local and probably have a pass. I know you from this board. Your photography is great. I wondered if it was you with a camera on the porch, which is probably the Lotus Center. You're there, as are KEYT personnel. Thanks. Great pics, AKA "How & Why to Love Orange Rain."
