The Princess ship and the Santa Barbara coast are gorgeous.

That is one plug ugly ship. Floating box car is more like it.

Bah Humbug to 986.
I love to see them pass my house--so slowly. Especially at night with all their lights glowing. I always think of Fantasy Island as it passes Todos Los Santos Island. In Baja, of course. It is also fun to see all the flash bulbs from tourists taking home their memories.

There are some elegant ladies sailing out there that still look like ships. I hope more of them start coming to Santa Barbara so people can see what a grand cruise ship can still look like.

These new ones are ridiculous - they built the super-structure hotel and rock climbing walls first and then stick a hull underneath it. No wonder it has to hug so close to shore and not topple, if it had to face real seas.

986: wonder what it looks like under the water line...

looks like a giant athletic trainer to me. More of a barge than a ship.
