pretty easy to see who's at fault here. SUV driver following too closely to stop safely, absolutely no excuses for that one.

I still remember learning the rules about distance, in my High School drivers education class. One car-length for every 10mph. I've heard rumors that the L.A. School District is seriously considering reinstating the Drivers Education program back into the school cirriculum again. Too many stupid drivers that don't know the rules-of-the-road causing accidents. I say, it's about time !

The way people drive the freeways today, you may be the only one who remembers the 1 car-length rule, D8Vanilla. What idiots!

Trouble with trying to leave appropriate space is someone cuts in. Poor people in the middle car, what a shock to be suddenly hit from behind. Hope they're OK.

I was hit from behind on Interstate 5 in north LA county many years ago. It caused me to hit the car in front much like this accident. No one hurt except the driver that hit me and he only had a cut lip from hitting the steering wheel. When the CHP arrived and talked to everyone, he advised us that the driver that hit me had no license, no insurance and was an illegal resident so he was arresting him. My truck had to be towed and it took a couple of weeks to have it repaired. Luckily my insurance had coverage for uninsured drivers.
