good idea to keep your rifle in a case (locking preferably) when transporting it. also a little strange that he moved the rifle at 4am...

205, 347, 372. Virginia Tech ring a bell? Fullerton? You must not have college/University-age kids. I don't care if this guy looked like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth. If I saw him carrying a rifle anywhere other than a rifle range or up in the mountains during deer/quail or whichever animal killing season it was, I'd call it in.

351- Do you even know what he did? Sounds like he was just carrying it into his home from his vehicle. So explain to us what is so irresponsible about that.

KCOY said they have been following these alerts since September and there have been 3 major incidents. I don't know what constitutes major but there have been a couple of assaults, a sexual assault, knifings, arson, the guy with the rilfe, and shots fired just in the last few weeks. Seems the burglary rate is down so the police effort to get people to lock their doors must be working. But the violent crimes are way up. There are a lot of families living there, raising children, and I feel for them. I seriously doubt rents are cheaper in IV than elsewhere in Goleta, tho. I wouldn't want to live there or have my children live there, young or adult.

347, nobody is saying anyone is a terrorist, but we have had a LOT of domestic, one-off shootings (or haven't you noticed?) It does put people on edge and it's totally irresponsible to do what this guy did because of that alone.

People are castrated nowadays. Everybody needs to calm down a bit. Al-C.I.A.-da is not hiding under your bed and everyone with a gun is not a terrorist.
