The fire was in the Trout Club by the mailboxes, and it was the mail truck that was on fire. Most of today's mail for the mountain communities was destroyed. Fortunately, because of good brush clearing by the volunteer fire department, no homes were burned.

What's really scary is how dry the trees in the entire picture look. We really need some good rain. I was so sad at the forecasted rain for last week that didn't materialize. Maybe some in the foothills but this city needs a really good soaking. Hope we get a lot of rain soon!

So what happens with the mail that was destroyed? Do the senders all get notified by the PO so they can resend the bills and mortgage statements? At least there's a lot of junk mail and election crap we won't be getting!

Moon Lady, you have to notify your creditors of the event, or go online and check accounts. The PO doesn't know which of your bills or payments got burned.
