Turns out a QAD employee was taking a break and walking one of the trails when they saw a small fire and smoke in a grove of eucalypus trees. They called for help and other employees came running and knocked the fire down with fire extinguishers. Montecito Fire arrived to put the finishing touches on fire. As is routine when fires erupt adjacent to trails, firefighters searched the area to make sure that there weren't any other fires. Another smouldering fire was found by firefighters about 50 yards down the trail and around a bend. This fire was also extinguished by firefighters. Both fires occured about 100 yards from the from the western side of the QAD building. Cause of the fires is currently under investigation.
