178P - I'll take any old Genesis. Of course it must include "Supper's Ready". "Back in NYC" is probably my favorite off of "Lamb". I did get to see Genesis a few years ago at the Hollywood Bowl, but wouldn't you know it rained and they couldn't do an encore because the instruments were shorting out. Best concert I ever saw was Genesis back in the early 80's at JFK stadium in Philly. They headlined a 5-band lineup. Supper's Ready, Lamb, The Knife....all the great old Gabriel stuff.

What a show! It was fantastic. He is still sexy with that voice after all these years. Beautiful show. My favorite was Mercy St. when he laid down on the stage. Moving. Beautiful.

My wife uses a Nikon Coolpix, nothing fancy, but it's what the Bowl allows in sometimes. She always gets some cool shots to add to our album of great shows.

I've been to at least a dozen concerts this year (not all at the Bowl), and this was by far the best one. Gabriel is known for his theatrical aspect on stage, for being a genius when it comes to art/production/video/lighting, and for choosing the best singers to back him up. His shows are never just a concert. Having all that, his amazing voice to this day, and his original band from 20 years ago, it was one helluva night at my favorite venue in the world!

Thanks for the photos! I tried to take a few but do not have a good camera on my phone. I go to so few concerts anymore due to the price and when I chose to lay down many hard earned dollars for this concert I made an excellent decision. So many exalting moments! The crowd around me was soooo in to it which made it even better! Besides a handful of very lucky kids I'm not sure there was anyone there under 40! :)

Biko !!! Thank you answering! Sounded killer in my neighborhood, and the crowd chanting was cool! I just couldn't remember that song title.

Best concert I've been to. He and the band were amazing although I'm an uber fan so may not be entirely subjective.

Trick of the Tail was good, but Genesis stopped being Genesis after that, their first album post-Gabriel. They became pop when Gabriel left. I have their first album, an import, titled "In the Beginning." Funny, I have two copies of "Foxtrot." I must have worn one out. I have all their albums, on vinyl, up to and including "Trick of the Tail," and at least a live one more. Saw Trick in LA. Never saw Gabriel in Genesis's prime. I did see him at the Arlington 6/18/80, when he made his entrance down the aisle from the lobby. Aaah, the good old days! Not that yesterday's concert wasn't part of the new great days! Good lord, I'm old, as one poster said about the SB Map post card. I agreed with that post too!

080, do you want to see "Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" or "Foxtrot"? I love "Selling England by the Pound", but the first two are what I want to see. Of course I'd have to choose Lamb. I would have simply sobbed all the way through "Biko."

Just the same as it was in 1986 when I saw the SO tour at the Forum. Although there are more lights now.

I wonder who gave him the yellow roses on his piano? What a talented muscian. That was such an artistic show. The Bowl season is almost over :(

I see that John Cusack was there holding the boom box like he did at Hollywood Bowl! Saw Gabriel's show last year and I'm sure it was just as good this year!

Thank you so much for sharing your great pictures. That was my show of the year at The Bowl. His voice is still amazing, as was the stage production. Now I can show my kids!

My ultimate dream would be to see Gabriel get back together on a tour with Genesis. I'd pay big bucks to see that.
