Wow, an interesting and informative breakdown. How very sad for ALL involved, including the shooter and his wife. PTSD can take over one's clarity, and seems to have done just that here. It does sound, too, like the "new medicine" was perhaps increasing his distress rather than decreasing it. Sad. So very sad. Those children will remember this all of their lives; hopefully they will be given counseling and helped to develop the skills they will need in order to sort this all out over the coming years. And what a hero is the neighbor who helped the young boy as he escaped. I remember that neighbor was interviewed on TV at the time, and he was really in the right place at the right time, and did the right thing for that child. Too little of that happens these days. ALL of the adults, those in the apartment, and the shooter, were not behaving as adults, sadly, and instead of resolving behavior problems with reason and cooperation, a sad former fighter for our country went over the edge and tried to "right things" in his own way. Had he not been shot to death, he would have been in jail for the remainder of his days. So very sad.
