Dan - they post in all caps because they always have posted in all caps, going back to the days when they used Model 8 Teletype machines that only did caps and numbers and a very very limited number of punctuation marks and symbols - hey at least they use punctuation these days, thanks to modern technology.

Omg, omg, omg! Well, I hope it rains. I don't need too many dire warnings for stuff that in most events will be good. I hope these people who are warning us have a lot more important things to do in the rest of their work days. But I'm all anxious now. Thanks.

Dan - My bet for the all caps would be that some locations still receive on old teletype devices that have a very limited character set. (?)

I have to agree with Auntie S., and why do they post these in all caps?

903, as a kid growing up in Detroit, in the age of "Mad Men," I remember wearing rubbers.

I've got my rubbers at the ready. If anyone needs these old-fashioned standbys, they are available for about $18 by "googling" Totes-Isotoner. My office colleagues always laugh when I wear them to work but the $18 spent every couple of years has saved my $200 Wing-tips more than once!

There will be an upper low with very cold air aloft centered over our area for a day or two - meaning unstable air and some scattered showers. Some places may get a short sharp shower with a rumble of thunder mixed in, while other places remain cool but dry. This will NOT be an "overcast skies with continuous rain" type of event... most places will likely remain rain free.

1. Snow level of 7000 ft means that we have 0% chance of snow locally. 2. Seedlady, hail has nothing to do with low temperatures at ground level. It can be 110 degrees out and hail. Sleet, on the other hand, needs low temps. 3. An early October soaker is the best defense for fire season.

I'll believe this only when I see it. Been there, heard that, didn't happen. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Our local weather people are more often wrong then right when it comes to predictions like this.

if a chance of hail, will temps likely be low enough to do frost damage? Oh how I miss NOAA's frost reports.
