I had a social worker tell me that there were no nice safe convalescent homes in the Santa Barbara area. She stated that she wouldnt put her dog in one of them. That was several years ago. Have any improved?

And several other places too many Fall Victims with head injuries.. Belindas mom was in this place on Patterson she got this rip in her forehead they said she had falled down BULL MANURE, The skin was hanging from her forehead Belinda took a picture of it..I can see it in my mind Poor Woman to have known love in her life then to go out like that. She must have thought that her family hated her. She had more than enough money to live in a better place but someone else was in charge of the money.

Is it normal for the ambulances to make runs to nursing homes several times a day?

Live in the area and hear them ALL the time heading to that place

OMG, Roger! I am sorry for the loss of your friend. What would possess someone to tell you she is fine when she has been gone for so long?! I don't understand people.

Here we have the elders of our society at the most vulnerable time of their lives and they get abused by people who clearly have no conscience. I just don't get it. It makes me ache to think of someone who cannot defend themself being frightened, hurt and unable to make it stop. In my opinion, these abusers are some of the lowest scumbags on Earth...right alongside the child molesters, kidnappers and serial killers.

I hope a really thorough investigation is done on this place. I really hope those residents have an advocate that can watch over them and be their voice.

It's the only Nursing Home in the 3800 Block of Via Lucero. The same nursing home that had many charges of elder abuse lodged aganist it although it has changed ownership several times.. It is right next to Calvery Cementary. I had a friend in there I no longer talked to but checked on now and again a few months ago they told me she was fine. I found out last month shes been dead since 2007. It's really too bad that some people choose to abuse those that cannot fight back..SCUM BAGS!

My uncle made the mistake of putting my aunt in that home a few years ago. It was a nightmare for her, as other patients were allowed to run free and were in and out of her room night and day. The poor thing was so frightened she stayed awake all night. When my uncle heard what had happened he made arrangements to have her transferred that day. It has changed hands twice since she was there, but it has always had a bad reputation.
