Hey OP this is 960 . Sorry about the previous post. I read so quick my dyslexia must have set in. I thought you wrote the Victoria Secret parking lot as in the one below the mall, and not Victoria Street parking lot. My Bad . I thought that was an odd reference to the lot. Hence the panty comment.

Please contact city parking officials when this happens. The parking attendant in the kiosk will give you a business card with the contact info if you ask. I was stuck trying to get back into Lot #5 to get back to work at around the same time you were stuck trying to leave. I'm a Victoria Court business owner, pay a % of sales each quarter for PBIA ("Parking and Business Improvement Assessment") totalling over $10K annually(with NO discounted parking to us or our staff), and our customers couldn't get in or out of this lot. This is not the only time this type of thing has occurred. I asked the attendant what was going on as I counted at least 20 empty parking spaces, yet the "Lot Full" sign was displayed and no cars could enter. This is, needless to say, beyond inconvenient...it is damaging to our business, and we downtown merchants are the ones paying for the first "free" 75 minutes. How many of you know that downtown business owners pay for this, BTW?

You could sue them for false imprisonment and get your money back.

Parking and bums are why I just don't shop downtown anymore. I can take a few homeless if they're not aggressive but everything I've heard makes me stay away. I'll watch Edhat to see if that situation changes. I don't need the hassle of a bad parking place or a ticket, I shop where parking is free and plentiful or online. A lot of the online purchasing gives me a tax free benefit to boot.

Wow! They gave you 20 minutes credit. That is benevolent of them. After reducing the availablility of much on-street parking, changing the hours of on-street parking in the vicinity to coincide with the rates in the City monopolized parking garages and otherwise squeezing as much money as they can from downtown parkers, that is surprising they gave you any credit. I would have expected them to claim you assumed the risk of such malfunctions by parking there and it was just your tough luck!

Keep a sharp carpenter's saw in your car for future episodes of this kind.

They still charged you for parking? That's low.

They let you go? But they haven't even sent me proof of life yet.
