@274 good point. Wasn't the body found near the stairs? I wonder if the police even used a black light at night to see if there were any traces of blood on the stairs?

FBI may mean potential financial fraud? Lillegal drugs? Turning this into a federal case instead of a local police action is curious - what federal issues could be at stake that would warrant this federal jurisdiction.

327364 - FBI is involved because Marks was CIA and this was a hit. OK I have no idea what happened but meanwhile I'll just chew on this thought as it's more interesting than the rest.

Come on people - a man is dead and his family and friends are grieving their loss. Everyone is in the dark about what happened to Mr. Marks, including his family. Your humerous speculation is in no way funny.

I ran down and alerted the FBI about the black light. They wanted me to pass on their thanks to 349.

410P - What is humerous speculation? Perhaps you meant humerus speculation, which may lead you to the funny bone. Which in itself would be humorous.

I agree with 410; jokes are not appropriate for this topic. A man is dead, the police and FBI are investigating. Please keep comments to facts and appropriate comments about the person. If he were a friend or family member, I would be devestated. Please show some respect.

My father taught me that there is humor in every situation. When he died, we worked a number of jokes into our conversations (did you hear Pop bought a farm?). Yes, we were sad and grieving, but the laughter helps work it all out. It is human nature to make jokes. I feel for the family, but some of these comments are truly humorous (thank you, 466).

Maybe a crime happened to Mr. Marks up there, then he was moved and pushed to make it look like an accident ?

I cannot believe what I am reading in this thread. Shame on all of you who make jokes and light of a very serious sitation. A man is dead. He was a son, husband, father and possibly even a brother, uncle, or a grandfather. These people he leaves behind are devastated by his death and since they are still looking for something on the beach they have to live with the facts that maybe their loved one met with a untimely death caused by another. Ask yourself how you would feel knowing that your own loved one was taken from you in an act of violence? How long does it take to make peace with something like that? For me? I'd want to know what happened and try to start the healing process. If the family or a representative is following this on Edhat, I'd like to offer my heartfelt condolences and prayers for peace in their hearts.

I would think that since they are out there working the grid with a metal detector, that it is a possible homiside.

611 made the most appropriate comment. 507, there might be humor in MOST situations, but not all (like this one). I've been to funerals where memories of the deseased brought laughs, a nice release, but in a violent, unsolved death a grieving family doesn't need the unkind comments that pass to some as humor. Nothing funny about this situation.
