203 - I'm happy to hear you attended. Thank you for explaining that. I appreciate the love. That is what Created in SB is all about, I want to give local people and organizations that traditional media forgets about a chance to tell their story. RDH - Thank you very much for the comment, I really appreciate it. I have been able to make some income through doing commercial videos for local companies and through small sponsorships and donations. I have only been doing Created in SB since the summer started. I am debating whether to set it up as a traditional business or maybe even as a non-profit. I feel that if I had supporters that donated $, I could make more videos for organizations and people that are in need of them, instead of having to do commercial stuff that I am not as excited about in order to just pay the bills. Yeah, I considered KEYT, but it kind of represents the opposite of what I am about. I feel like its the old school (cheesy) way of sharing stories. I like to keep my stuff more genuine. They have the technology, they just lack the creativity. I guess thye have been doing things the same way for so long, that it's hard to change. Plus they are part of ABC/Disney which is huge and I'm sure there are many levels of BS they have to adhere to. I like being my own boss and not having to answer to anyone. It allows me to do my art the way I want to. 203 - You are right :) It is worth getting the story out. If you look above in my first response, I posted a link to a video I made for K9 PALS a few weeks ago that goes into more detail about their mission.

I found out the county shelter asks K-9 PALS to pay for even daily medical needs and first aid, not just big surgeries and care for serious illnesses and injuries. The county shelter isn't set up to give that kind of care to the animals, but the community as a whole doesn't really understand that. People assume Animal Services, or the H.S., or an SPCA, provides all the medical care, food, etc, for dogs in the shelter, but they don't. So getting the story out about the good work of K-9 PALS is newsworthy.

I really enjoy the creativity and high quality of your videos, I hope you find a way to be sustained by your craft. You really should approach KEYT, they clearly are in need for someone skilled in this technology.

This is the best event for dogs that is held anywhere in Santa Barbara County. It was a lot of fun, there were kids and elder folks enjoying the heck out of the activities, very friendly atmosphere, fantastic location, well organized, all for a good cause, to raise money and awareness for the plight of homeless dogs all over Santa Barbara County. It's great to see representation of various rescue groups and exhibitors from many different places around here and Ventura, too. K-9 PALS is helping dogs all over the county not just the Santa Barbara local shelter. The more donations they receive the more they can do for dogs everywhere. This event is the kind of good news story people want to know about. The local media, like KEY TV and SBNP, should be doing articles on this event. Good for you, Brian Peddicord, for donating so much of your time and excellent skills to K-9 PALS and their event.

981 - Thanks for the love and for explaining what K9 PALS is all about. I made a video to promote the event that has been on Facebook but somehow wasn't posted here even though I submitted it. It is pretty promotional, so that's probably why it wasn't posted. Everyone can see it here: http://youtu.be/mGxofcymUc8 Or go to www.CreatedInSB.com and like our Facebook page to see a ton of cute dog photos and two other videos about the event. DOGMOM - Thank you very much for saying that. I hope you felt like you were there by watching the video. See you next year! SBANDTO - Thank you for the comment. I had a lot of fun and was proud to sponsor the event! 044 - Thank you for the love! I am keeping super busy, feels good to do what you love and help out awesome causes. Now if I can just find a way to earn some income doing it... :) 059- Thank you!!! Glad you loved it! Love is good. I love love. 089P aka JK aka Complainy Pants - Thank you for watching and commenting. EdHat did have an ad under the events section. Check that out sometime :) It was also in the Independent, and on Craigslist and on Facebook. It costs a lot to advertise, and when you are a non-profit who's every penny goes to doing what it actually claims to do (helping needy dogs), it's tough to spend the kinda money necessary to get it on every piece of media in SB. That's where Created in Santa Barbara comes in. I made 3 videos for free to promote the event. Took a lot of time, but since I believe in the cause, I wanted to help out. I admit, I completely spaced on the music credit. I am working on several other projects right now and wanted to get this one up while people are still excited and... [ more ]

Yet again, I missed an event I would have loved to attend. Edhat had no advertisement of this at all? Must read other papers/online rags more often. Who wrote and sang the cute song? Not in the credits. Shame. DOGMOM: The ball drop is like a lottery type raffle thingy. The balls are numbered and drop into certain holes. If you're a winner, those numbers are on your raffle ticket, the holes determine the prize . . . I think. Did I get that right? Next time K-9 Pals needs to get the word out about this event. My dog should have been in the video. (JK)

Thanks to K-9 Pals for all they do for the SB County Shelter dogs! They pay for special food for the dogs with food allergies, and provide the vet care and medicine for the dogs with conditions that the County doesn't have budget for- knee surgeries, eye surgeries, ear surgeries, broken legs, etc..... Fundraisers like this are critical for them to be able to continue to help the shelter dogs before some nice person is able to adopt them. When everyone works together to help the dogs some amazing things can happen!
