Good article although I agree Reyes is a perfect spot for Mexican food. My main problem was recommending the Biltmore and Montecito Inn when we have a beautiful Best Western and fairly new Holiday Inn in Carp. It's a Carp story, not Montecito.

Doubt anyone from NYC is going to make a special trip, but still...for those of us in the know here, if he's gonna write something, at least it doesn't poo all over our little town. We have EdHat Bakerfield-by-the-Sea/Mayberry snipers for that.... Regardless, it will all soon be as old as last week's paper.

Reyes is so good. Great owners who are in there everyday, high quality food (the best meats of any Mexican place in the entire county) and delicious soups and specials. I love Reyes. I think i'll go get a few tacos right now Delgados is gringo mex at its most mediocre... Re-fried beans, canned salsa, greasy chips and sugar drinks... no thanks.
The Palms is gross. Sorry people but cooking sub par beef yourself does not make it charming, it makes it gross and cheap. And the bar crowd is a nice view into what 50yr old alcoholics look and act like daily... Sly's = good food but Lucky's is way better in every way and the same price. These of course are all my opinion and therefore 100% correct.

Breakfast burritos are not part of authentic Mexican cuisine. Seriously, an omelette wrapped in a tortilla, no matter how fresh the salsa is, doesn't get me excited.

I thought it was a good article, although the Palms = Carp to me too. At least she didn't claim the Spot has the best hamburgers. I've never been to Zookers or Beach Liquor, but I'll try them both.

Great article. But how could she not mention The Palms?? Carp staple. And I wish she had stopped at Robitailles! It's been there for 50-60 years! Everyone stops at Robitailles!

LOL She goes to Reyes Market to ask where to get some good authentic Mexican food? They have the best full service taqueria in Carp inside Reyes Market! Something doesn't add up. FAIL. El Buen Gusta is OK and all but Reyes edges them out. Bodega? Honey this isn't NYC, it's a liquor store and bring cash.
