Cone around neck is not the same as a muzzle. It's so the dog can't bite itself.

Or could it be an Elizabethan collar? cause the dog has an injury the vet doesn't want him/her to touch. Tough running in those and your fellow canine laugh at you. Hope for safe return! And there go the POlease down the S101/Padero to Carp.

Oh dear, on the run from the law while wearing the cone of shame. I hope they got the guy safely.

"Elizabethan collar" is just the fancy vet's name for "cone." I hope dog is found and is okay. So many dogs getting out lately. Must be heat and then open doors are a pathway to freedom? San Andres street is so unsafe, with fast traffic and two ways to get onto the 101. At least the cone will make this dog an instant recipient for sympathy, and, hopefully, reunite it with the owner(s) quickly.

Pleople please train your dogs! No dog should run out of a house just because a door is open. If your dog runs away from your yard every chance it gets it may not be getting enough exercise and definitely needs more training. Your job as an animal owner is to keep your dog safe.

The beginning sounded like the start of a joke. I hope the dog is okay and the owners found him/her or that the poor scared dog just wandered home. The cops are used to banged up cars; no crime, no shame.

Probably saw the "K-9" on the side of the car and thought it was a dog taxi. Hope the dog's ok :)

Still wondering how the dog could hit the police car, but maybe the cone doesn't allow the dog very good vision.

Lack of training and/or exercise is NOT the only reason for a dog to run out the front door (or otherwise get loose). I've seen many posts lately about lost dogs being the sole result of bad owners. That is not a fair assumption. Sometimes, simply, a dog will "get out." I hope this pooch gets home safely to its owners!

024-A trained dog does not "simply get out" unless their owner takes them out. They don't run out open doors or run into streets when off leash. If you seriously think that is the case you are misinformed or have never seen a truely trained dog.
