353 - I don't know if this is the case for this particular trip.....but......sometimes....reserve air force pilots and crew are the ones who do these types of trips. They need to get X amount (I don't know how many) of flight hours to keep current and such trips help them. I went to Bosnia in 2000 to visit the troops and we had reserve officers flying us both ways.

I saw it flying low over my house... recognized it right away as a C17... the C130's have props, C17 is jetted.

awesome.

That is a C17 globemaster, a C5 is much larger and very very loud, you would know if you heard it. The C17 can actually take off in a shorter distance than a C130 cargo plane

32564 our airport has handled 747's and C17's before, recently VP Bidens 757 landed there (after striking a bird)

Not a C-5, pretty sure that is just a C-17 Globemaster. These can land on very short and sometimes even unimproved (dirt) strips. And 325364 a C-130 is a propeller driven craft, so not even close!

Not a C5 which is one of the largest planes ever made. Our airport can barely handle the 737s. Most likely a C130 which has short strip landing ability.

I don't think it's actually flying slowly, it just appears that way because it's so large.

does the C5A airplane bring the swimming pool also?

do the number of players on a water polo team merit transportation in the biggest cargo plane in the world?

Confirmed, the USAF Academy water polo team here for tourney at UCSB, checked the academy website. Saw the team middling about the tarmac
