Wow! This morning I read how the city is banning RV parking on Cabrillo and now this?! Could it be that Mayor Schneider finally sees what we have been complaining about for the last 3-4years, that the homeless problem has gotten worse, not better? Hopefully this marks a turning point and Mayor Schneider is finally standing up for taxpaying, law-abiding Santa Barbarans for a change. She's been kowtowing to Homless, Inc. for far too long and we want our parks and our beaches back!

Don't get your hopes up. Just more lip service. When you see the trouble maker population dropping by 10% a year instead of growing by 10% then we can celebrate!

Could it be that as the boomers have aged and achieved the retirement stage, that they long for the SB of their youth and the freedom they felt, rather than the vulnerability and issues around health and resources they feel today? Perhaps seeing buskers and hustlers on the sidewalks they used to be able to enjoy has finally shaken off some of the liberal idolatry.

I love it how people celebrate freedom and democracy only as it pertains to tax payers. Of course anyone who buys anything pays sales tax so even the homeless are tax payers. As George Orwell eloquently wrote: "all animals are created equal, but some are more equal than others". I find it especially ironic that our conservative friends want to do away with government's role in their lives but are quick to sick that same government to quash the lives of those they don't like. Much like the good Rev. Drost will sick God on those who would obstruct him. Neither God nor freedom are commodities to be used for one's one personal gain, my friends.

325185, since when did wanting our parks, beaches, and streets free of urine, feces, used needles, tents, shopping, and panhandlers become a conservative vs. liberal thing? I'm willing to bet there is an equal number of Democrats (myself included) who are glad to see the City finally moving beyond the policy of "absolute accomodation." The era free food, free "transitional housing," and free rehab ushered in by Mayor Schneider her allies on the City Council only made the problem worse. Throwing money at the problem clearly didn't work; time to give "sustained deterrence" a chance.

Who said Helene started this, supports it, or even knows about it? She's shown zero leadership in this area, except for caving to Flacks, Darraka, Pritchett, Emily Allen and the rest of that crazy progressive crowd.

Maybe Helene walked outside earlier this week to go for a jog and stepped into a fat steamy pile of bum dump? That would be a quick way for anyone to change their lenient stance on homelessness.
