I wonder if that is the plane that crashed into the ocean a few weeks ago. They had to retreive it as it sank in a sanctuary area.

Aluminum stripped of paint/etc..I believe its headed for a restoration somewhere. Definitely not from the bottom of the ocean.

A friend's dad helped Lindburgh move the Spirit of St. Louis to the airport in San Diego, in a Packard convertible (not all in one piece). Imagine the stares they got!
