I'm not sure about your location. What is Carrillo Hill? Carrillo and Cliff do not meet. Do you mean Meigs? Also while your adding info, what do you mean by impromptu?

If you are talking about the mesa side of the hill.. the pavement is being prepped for resurfacing (which has been planned years in advanced; construction which rotates to different sections of town each year)

269: I have lived in Goleta for 40 yrs and I know it as Carrillo Hill. In fact I don't know anyone who calls it Meigs. So if you are new to town: there is your lesson for the day. Locals call it Carrillo Hill. On the other hand, if you knew full well what the OP was talking about but were just trying to split hairs ... that's annoying.

324269 also doesn't know where to go if you tell him to meet you at Hendry's Beach or the Wilcox property.

I called it impromptu because I never noticed any signs notifying of an upcoming project. If they were there, then I guess I need to work on my observation skil Anyway, thanks for the explanation.

I live at the bottom of Carrillo Hill, near Carrillo and San Andres. Are you perhaps talking about the TOP of the hill...?

@302 & 311: I've lived here all my life and thought the "Carrillo Hill" kind of ended at the top, then became Meigs Road. This isn't a Hendry's/Arroyo Burro thing--Carrillo is on one side, then becomes Meigs. I have never heard the Meigs side referred to as the Carrillo Hill.

Pillow fight!! My drive to work is terrible, look at all the potholes! Omg!, i have to move my car while there is rd work going on with all these big trucks in MY way. You can't have it both ways. Construction is temp but on edhat it's the complaining that doesn't stop.

So cute, everyone tussling over street names. I remember when Carrillo didn't go all the way through. It was a big cow pasture with a dilapidated old barn and one lonely old horse. Let's talk about that.

Even though it is properly called Meigs Rd, on the Mesa side, when anyone refers to Carrillo hill AND Cliff Dr., as one who lived just off Meigs on the Upper Mesa in the mid 1960's I knew EXACTLY where they were describing. There is only ONE Cliff Dr., and I thought all locals, including those from Goleta knew where Cliff Drive is!
