While fuzzy, someone is sure to recognize them. Hopefully, this will be solved soon. I understand lense envy, camera envy, talent envy but stealing? That takes balls. Too bad this person chose to use their talents this way. Imagine if he instead decided to tackle gangs or something else that also takes a thick skin, strong stomach and other qualities he seems to have.

I didn't think the comments were funny, only stupid; I, too, subscribe, but I don't think they should be deleted. What's odd is that the photo dates from more than a month ago, on 8/21. Good luck to catching the thief --- stealing raises the prices on all of us.

Why does it take the Santa Barbara PD so long to put up these photos of bad guys? This happens all the time with these press releases. If they want the public's assistance, you would think they would put them out right after the crime is committed not weeks later. Is there some technical issue?

916: I think you misunderstood my comment. I meant it takes a special breed to knock off a high end camera store in broad daylight with your face looking right at their surveillance system. Now that I think about it though, its kind of a joke that a place like Samy's has a camera that rudimentary. The bike store in Solvang had higher res shots than this.

986 - I thought the same thing. Then my detective skills kicked in and i realized the image on the TV does not move in all three images. The guy kind of looks like me but I would never hang my shades on my collar, or steal stuff like that douche bag is.

Funny... in the first pic, he looks into one corner for a camera, in the second, he looks right at this camera, in the third, you know he is saying "Oh S!&#, I'm on camera" to himself.
Well, if he's a City College or Westmont student, no doubt the PD will just call his mommy and daddy and he'll get off with a warning after daddy makes a 'donation'.
