Who says poster didn't dispose of this litter in trash? I like that someone takes photos such as this. Only it would be good to know location of such. Maybe the neighbors would like to know what kind of firecracker is waking them up at 2am? 4am? Not that they'll ever find the little/big brats who set this off.

This was left by the kids who were shooting off the firecrackers and fireworks last night on Red Rose. I didn't have time to explain that when I sent it in. I also didn't think I needed to add a shot of where it ended up. Silly me, do I get my UH badge?

I think a more interesting perspective would have made for a better picture.... like a worm's eye view, or a dog's eye view or go really high and take a bird's eye view.... or stand on your head and take the upside down view from a medium size dog's eye view!! Yeah, I know... everyone's a critic. Here you are making art for the masses and all you get is blah blah blah.

Wow, be nice to JEFFINSB. I am interested in his photo. I believe he was showing us a picture of what made the very loud bangs last night on the Mesa. Nice to know it wasn't gunfire, although fireworks during a high fire season could be just as deadly. And Dan, I agree, everyone should have to post with a name (I'll stick to anonymous until everyone else has to own up to their comments.)

It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye, finger or burns a house down. I just hope it's their own. The youth of today are not qualified to handle explosives. Back in the day we never would have left the evidence lying around, we would have burned it... In a bonfire at the beach of course.

790 and others: What kind of name? A made-up one like mine? I am committed to using my screen name. But if some nasty person used a name like Bill or Sue, how would that help? Honest questions here! And another question: Why not use your name or screen name now and try to change the online environment and mindset? Don't just wait for others. Do what you believe in; what you feel is right. (Many of us, in this small town, have reasons for not using real names and can share useful information when we hide behind online identities.) I knew immediately what this original post was about and appreciated the virtual proof that what we heard were fire works. Thanks OP. And about the threatening-sounding and feeling posts; I think posters are being jerks by flexing their muscles and that it won't go further. Though it's not my style, I won't criticize anyone for feeling afraid, not in this day & age.

3 other things about posting: Names are not created or meant to be in all caps by the poster/creator, but are made that way by the Edhat software. It seems that posts are not tagged with the time written, so it's a favor to readers to put your post time in the text when reporting a community happening (explosion, accident, etc.). I think that Ed(s) online write the opening sentences/headlines for posts, and/or edit them, so please don't criticize posters for the opening lines that show up on the home page. I realize my points are very visible, but are not noted by some readers. I too am accustomed to PHBoard software. (Hope I got that right) Thanks "Jeff"; and 790, I am not criticizing you. I realize this post should be in the Edhat survey thread.

Obviously none of you have ever lit off a roman candle. They don't make loud bangs like firecrackers. Therefore this piece of trash was not the culprit. Thus this was just a picture of litter. Glad to see it is in the trash can.

862: I'm going to assume that the 2nd pic was added by the OP after the fact, once everyone started nannying him about throwing away trash. 812: I've lit many roman candles, and some do make bangs. Not exactly the same noise you'd get from m80s, but they can certainly bang.
