Congratulations Ken and Goleta Valley Beautiful!! This tree is stunning. Clearing out the palms and actually seeing the majesty of the tree trunk makes you realize how beautiful Goleta was. I imagine it resembled a Dutch Old Master landscape painting. I'm in awe. It has taken years of work on Ken Knight's part to make this happen. A big celebration is in order. This doesn't happen everyday.

We have a beautiful, huge Sycamore here in Carpinteria; at the east end of 6th street, by the Sanitary District. It is thought to have been here when the Portola expedition came through in 1769.
