We wondered what that was! We're close to State, just off De La Vina, and it sounded like cannons going off around 9 PM last night! Then we heard the police sirens...

Scanner said it was firecrackers ... Overall consensus in the house was that it was gunfire. Was on Flora Vista, heard it was 5 males wearing baseball caps, ended up running over by red rose and then down by SBCC.

This was last night around 9:30, right? We're over near Hendry's Beach, and that first explosion was HUGE! Sounded even bigger than an M-80 to me (but it's been a while since I actually heard one of those).

We're between Lazy Acres and Shoreline Park and we heard all 5 loud and clear. We thought it was gunfire.

We saw them last night! It was a nice Sunday Evening surprise. I would say there were about 10 of them that went off. Such a great view from my Patio. :)

yeah, it was fireworks. our back deck looks over red rose from la vista and we could see the bursts in the air. they went west on red rose towards flora vista and back lighting them off. like 561 said probably about a dozen in total. the first one was really loud. sounded nothing like gunfire at all.

I heard them and I'm over on the Eastside(Cota, Voluntario). I looked
hoping to see the fireworks.

We heard it, thought it was shotgun fire then went outside and saw the fireworks! On Meigs Road.

Always good to come here for the story. I wondered about those really loud booms, it got all the dogs upset in the area (mine included.) I live in the West Mesa area, but not close to Red Rose. I hope they caught the offenders.

I said in another thread that I heard them loud and clear on Mission Street. I meant I doubted they were from Padaro. But I'm getting better on sound ID!
