The 3100 Via Real "shots fired" are probably the fireworks at going off Kevin's place on Padaro; celebrating his Emmy win perhaps? Don't know about the other reports.

I am on the train. I heard them talking, but I didn't seem like they were too worried. Just as we pulled out, an ambulance flew by... I didn't hear the shot or see it. I overheard, "come down here & check it out. It's shattered" over the walkie talkies. Everyone on the train seems fine, except the super drunk people in the cafe car don't appreciate the need to reboot the credit card machine.

I heard fireworks from my home on Mission street. I've never heard them coming from Padaro area before. Good luck at the animal shelter tomorrow.

Fireworks were after 8 p.m.; I'm writing at 8:30; just tacking on to a different thread. Glad no one was hurt on the train!

Also... Thank you, Edhat. I did not even know what they were talking about... Then I got a tweet from you! No passengers currently on the train seems to know about it at all. Probably better that way!

The first thing I heard about it was a report being taken in Goleta they said something about it happening near Mariposa Reina. Then there were many reporting parties like 17 or so. One of them was Union Pacific that reported the shot comming from the 5800 Block of Carpinteria Avenue or near the Chevron station. That is really confusing to me isn't Maraposa Reina up North? There were two reporting parties on the 3100 Block of Via Real. Later on a city report of Fireworks at West Beach in Santa Barbara. I accidently got stuck on the city Fire channel after that so I probably missed alot of information, sorry...

Yup, Mariposa Reina is about 2 miles south of the gaviota tunnel.
