The fall victim died? A simple trip to the beach turns tragic!
That's a great access to the beach but that last step to the sand can be awkward. There are lots of big rocks there, maybe he hit his head.

Hold on a sec...We don't yet know the details or what caused the fall. A cardiac arrest or a grand mal seizure can cause someone to fall too. In the first case, the person would have already been dead when he fell. This happened to a neighbor of mine (not in SB) who had a massive MI while working on his roof on a ladder and then fell two stories. It comforted his family a little that he was already dead / unconscious when he fell off the ladder and did not suffer from the fall itself. Whatever the cause of THIS incident, rest in peace and good wishes to his friends and loved ones. Namaste

What Ever the reason of his death the dispatcher on the Scanner said, "Fall Victim" So that is what I added to the call.

Yes, Roger. You report what you hear on the scanner and the verbiage used by those on it. My comment about speculating as to cause of death before we know the coroner's findings was not directed at you.

From the timeline, the Noozhawk story and the scanner report are the same incident. So -- no fall, the body washed up with the tide. Still very sad.

Gee, I notice that Noozhawk reported that the fall victim was a woman, when in fact it's turned out to be a 60 year old man. That's some pretty inaccurate reporting. In contrast at 7:22 this morning an Edhat commenter posted that the person was a "middle aged male". Noozhawk reporters may want to start checking Edhat before filling in the gaps in their stories. That's what I love about Edhat.
