I saw him coming down 154 about 4 pm yesterday. He was carefully facing traffic, but I feared for his animals, and oncoming drivers. He looked like he had been in the outback for quite some time.

That must have been another cowboy since he was at the corner of Old Coast Hwy & Harbor View at 1:45PM resting and 3 animals grazing. He rested for about 30 minutes then headed south into Monntecito.

Yes, those are MULES. Also known as long-ears. Handsome looking animals, smart and agile.
