I was under the impression that the Goleta Community Plan EIR had already been certified and the plan adopted. If this EIR is not official yet how can county staff reference it in Mitigated Negative Declarations for development projects?

"Eastern" Goleta partly constitutes what folks call "Noleta". Does it also include Hope Ranch and San Marcos Foothills? At any rate, depending on how the County approaches this project we could see another city or Goleta annexation come out of this if history repeats (and it does) with the perpetually ham-fisted County. How about "Santa Barbara Beach" for the new city name? Quick, someone form a unified opposition group. I'll make the popcorn. The County really doesn't have the brains and/or political will to sanely guide land use and development in the South County. I'm all for secession.

All those words in this news header, and nothing about the name or purpose of the project. Merely releasing or preparing an EIR is not news.

Sounds like Goleta will be the next to be devoured by LA...just as Santa Barbara starts being digested. :*-( I hope we do not lose sight of what's really important before it is all gone.

Oh, my goodness, I hope we're not paying these Bureaucrats by the Capitalized Word or Title!
