Al Gore's mansion in Montecito was more $ than this ranch was(it was on the market a few years back). Also, the ranch is a small one bedroom house, nothing lavish at all, just very simple.

I wanted to go up there and called them about a tour, but it seems you need to be active in the Republican party and be invited as part of a group. Oh well.....

321777 and 321722 -- I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed the incorrect apostrophe. I wanted to post about it last night but it was already after 9pm. It should be one or the other, meaning either, "The Reagans own this ranch" or "The Reagans reside here," but not what they have. I wonder how many people told them that while they were living there. But I agree it's irksome (if not incorrect) to have a sign that says, "The Reagans' [ranch]."

Seedlady, funny apostrophe in your post!! I have corrected co-workers on their it's-es and had them tell me that "its" just doesn't look right. The example I use is "hers," you don't say her's. It's SO widespread, I literally read the word "it's" as "it is" every time I see it so that I don't get used to seeing it incorrect and end up shrugging it off.

They had a Huell Howser show on the ranch this weekend. Lots of cool stories. Must be nice to be part of the ruling class.

Grammar nut -- actually there should be NO apostrophe. The sign is to say who lives there -- the Reagans.

It was beautiful because they were RICH.

John R Barletta, U.S. Secrect Service for Reagan was there to tell stories of the time he spent working for Reagan. It was a very special day. You feel Reagan presence. How luck (Flicka) to have lived on such a beautiful piece of property.

Too bad they didn't realize the metal sign's apostrophe is incorrect! (Reagans' ranch-- belong to both the Reagans: not Reagan's ranch (only one Reagan owned it).

Just a grammar nut.

Looks like you got the regular canned tour.

Nice to see the place and the story we were told was that he made the lake for Nancy. Maybe it was a small wet area beforehand?

I lived there before the Reagans owned it, a working cattle ranch. The little lake in the picture was merely a brownish watering hole for the cattle. Lovely pictures, thanks.

Nice place - pretty pictures. It's understandable he spent 335 days in eight years as president en route or at the ranch.
