Just think how bad city government would be if they had zero citizen advisory boards. At least you lived to tell and that makes you a better civic participant for the effort. Participating in these often far too frustrating volunteer efforts makes me know who to vote for now and who to make sure never gets in office again. Staff does follow whatever leadership we elect at the top once they firmly take charge and not play musical chair flip-flop like has been happening these past few elections. Staff still thinks the hyper-progressives are still in charge. It will take a few more election cycles to send them a very different message, and make sure the employee unions are not making those voter choices for us. Rule of thumb: if an employee union is for a candidate, make sure that candidate never gets a seat on city council. Easy as that and we can finally take this city in a new and more responsive direction.
