 January 5, 2004 - Happy New Year!
Welcome to 2004! The dedicated staff of edhat.com wish you and yours a happy and prosperous new year. And what a great year it is going to be ... Olympics, Presidential Elections, Spider Man 2, the Michael Jackson trial, and lots and lots of edhat.com tidbits!
To start off the new year, we are announcing that a new section has been added to the award winning edhat.com web site. From this day forward, the edhat information collection and reporting engine will be in high gear collecting local information on topics of interest to our subscribers. We call the new section (drum roll please) “local info” :-)
The first two local info items we have created are

SB Gas Prices - an interactive map showing all Santa Barbara, Goleta, and Montecito gas stations. Placing the cursor over a dot on the map will show recent regular, premium, and super prices. As of last night, regular prices in town ranged from $1.59 (Exxon on Hollister) to $1.89 (Chevron on West Valley in Montecito).

SB Movie Times - an interactive map showing movie times. (we added this feature because we found out that movies were the main interest of Santa Barbara Independent readers)
Local info items will be updated frequently to keep them accurate. More local info maps (and non-mapped data) will be coming online throughout the year.
Also, we are still giving away free edhat hats to anyone who can give us two good reasons why we should do so. Many people (with many citing lack of natural coverage on their cranium as reason number one) have been adequately convincing, and hats have been awarded. Click here to get your hat!
